How we get our numbers
1 venue
Based on 1 pricing document, service and tax included
Documents, not averages
We read venue rate cards and couples' quotes. Clearcost reads that document: the menu, the bar, the room, the service charge, and the tax. It does not blend rooms into a market average, and it does not fill a blank with a typical price.
Every line is itemized
The total on a card is the sum of the lines on that document. Food, bar, room, a minimum-spend shortfall, service, and provincial sales tax each stay visible. If a line is missing, the price is marked so it is not compared as if it were complete.
Fees and sales tax are included
Service, extra fees, and the provincial sales tax are inside the all-in total. A per-guest figure is that total divided by your party, adults and kids together. Change the party and the figure is scaled again. It is not the number printed for someone else's guest count.
Nothing is invented
When a quote is silent, the page says so. A room with no stated capacity is not given one. A dollar minimum is the venue's own floor, shown when your menu falls short of it.
Venues can't pay to be listed
Order on the list follows the all-in total at 150 guests on the free view. A venue cannot buy a higher place. The free view is priced at 150 guests and shown in $10k ranges. Exact totals stay behind a pass or an uploaded quote.
